Ambitions
Projects
Real-world ideas put to life — the tools that support artists and engineers.
Concepts:
Ledger is an AI-adjacent pipeline that turns raw audio recordings into accurate, playable sheet music. Under the hood, it chains together modular audio-analysis models — stem separation, chord and beat mapping, and confidence-scored transcription — into a single automated workflow, then serializes the result into standard notation formats.
Output quality is tiered by confidence: high-certainty passages are transcribed automatically, while lower-confidence sections are flagged rather than guessed at. Notation can also be generated at different skill levels, from simplified lead sheets to full harmonic detail, pulled from the same underlying analysis.
Beyond the pipeline itself, I’ve been building out the product side — modeling per-song cost across the software and licensing vendors involved, structuring tiered pricing, and laying the groundwork for eventually bringing it to music educators and publishers.
Music Program Platform
A platform for aggregating and organizing audition requirements for music programs, spanning college and conservatory admissions as well as pre-college summer programs. It’s built around three interconnected surfaces sharing one authentication layer and data taxonomy: a counselor-verified program database, a personalized student workspace, and a community forum, with verified program data as the core differentiator against free, unverified alternatives.
I’m sequencing the build from the data up: a discipline-tagged, per-cycle program schema as the foundational layer, followed by auth, the student workspace, an AI assistance layer, and the forum.
Experimental Performance Persona
A separate project I’m developing quietly for now — building out a distinct artistic identity and live show concept from the ground up, spanning sound, visual direction, and stage presence. It’s early enough that the specifics are still taking shape, so I’m keeping the details close until it’s further along.
What I will say: the concept is built primarily on ironic classicism.
LIVE@MMBC
LIVE@MMBC is the Michigan Music Business Club’s flagship live-performance series — intimate, high-energy sessions with local and student artists in the spirit of NPR’s Tiny Desk. As Co-VP of Production, I direct multi-disciplinary student teams across audio, video, lighting, and stage design, planning everything from camera and mic placement to the full stage build.
On the technical side, I’ve directed 48-track live recording sessions, capturing acoustic and electronic instruments simultaneously in live, untreated rooms. I also oversee the entire post-production pipeline, from raw multitrack mixing through multi-cam video editing.
The series is tied directly to major club touchpoints, including live sessions produced for the MMBC annual conference at Ross’s Robertson Auditorium, making it a bridge between live event execution, media production, and artist promotion on campus.
DMX Lighting Rig | Michigan Sigma Chi
A full overhaul of a high-occupancy fraternity basement into a permanent, professional-grade club space and multi-functional asset — a project spanning venue facility management, structural and electrical integration, audio engineering, and automated visual performance.
I designed and rigged a multi-fixture single-truss layout utilizing multiple moving heads, par lights, strobes, and high-powered lasers which were configured safely according to national standards. To ensure the space could be operated by anybody (no matter how intoxicated) I built the control architecture around SoundSwitch outboard hardware, pre-programming custom hot cues and automated presets that sync seamlessly with live performance. Structurally, I engineered the entire lighting rig to be completely modular and transportable, allowing the system to be safely struck and deployed for outdoor venues.
Beyond visuals, I completely overhauled the audio system to handle the demanding acoustics of a large, high-ceiling basement. The system was tuned to deliver crisp highs and punchy low-end at high volumes while deliberately leaving generous headroom to protect the equipment from distortion or damage by amateur DJs.
As House Manager, I oversaw the complex infrastructure behind the project, managing safe power distribution, load-balancing circuits to prevent breaker trips, and handling heavy physical rigging. Maximizing utility on a strict budget, I simultaneously repurposed a separate section of the basement to construct a fully equipped, durable chapter gym from the ground up, delivering a lasting physical asset for the organization.
MMBC Podcast Series
A studio podcast series extending the Michigan Music Business Club’s thought leadership — panel discussions, executive interviews, and deep dives produced around major events including the MMBC annual conference.
I designed and documented a streamlined multi-mic production workflow, writing standard operating procedures for rapid editing, noise gating, compression, and leveling so every episode ships polished and fast. On-site, that means directing multi-microphone setups, taming room acoustics in temporary recording spaces, and coordinating multi-camera shoots for high-quality social clips. Drawing on prior experience with professional podcast production agencies, the series delivers audio assets fit for a prominent business school program and its alumni network.
Home Studio Build
A ground-up design and build transforming a basement into a dedicated mixing, tracking, and multi-functional creative room. The goal: achieving a balanced, calibrated listening environment through targeted acoustic treatment and a custom-engineered surround monitoring system.
I designed and constructed professional DIY acoustic panels, meticulously calibrated to the room’s specific geometry to control reflections and optimize frequency response. For playback, I engineered a makeshift 5.1 surround sound monitoring array from the ground up, repurposing and integrating a set of vintage monitors inherited from my grandfather into a functional, spatial layout.
The core system runs through a Universal Audio Apollo Twin for premium preamps and real-time UAD processing, expanded via an optical ADAT connection with 8 additional mic preamps to support high-input tracking. This multi-channel configuration provides the dedicated IO required for complex, multi-mic drum recording sessions. For mix translation, I reference this custom physical array against calibrated headphone monitoring to ensure precise spatial and stereo imaging across different listening environments.
LIVE from B21
“LIVE from B21” was developed to give amazing artists the opportunity to record masterpieces in a live setting to commemorate the beautiful performances throughout our time at a summer program. The album took place in the basement of 1140 Boylston Street in room B21. With 30 minute intervals between all 24 bands and songs, we completed the masterful recordings of the album in a span of 14 straight hours on a random Monday. The live album was then mixed and mastered by engineer Sam Blumberg, who also was the main recording engineer that Monday. Collectively, we achieved what was said never to be achieved. And in light of our opportunity that summer to get together for such an exciting event, many other musicians like ourselves are not as fortunate to be able to pursue music. That’s why “LIVE from B21” will be helping young and passionate musicians by donating all proceeds made from the album to the D’Addario Foundation, and specifically to the College Scholarship Fund. “By helping pay for college, we empower students to become who they were always destined to be.”
